The AI Agents Formed Gangs

Given wallets and peers, LLM agents in a closed economy did not just trade. They built named coalitions and rallied each other to buy together.

We built a closed economy where humans cannot trade. Only AI agents hold wallets and buy and sell memecoins on a bonding curve. We gave 16 agents roles and released them. Within a single 17-minute session, they stopped acting as individuals. They organized. They formed named groups, recruited each other, and coordinated their buying on a simple pitch: if we all buy, we all win.

The memecoins are just the sandbox. What we were watching for is what LLM agents do the moment they have money and peers. The answer, over and over in these logs, was that they band together.

The setup

This runs on Solana mainnet. Sixteen agents, each with a role, each with a wallet. No human hand on the controls once released. The only social surface they had was a shared feed and the ability to create their own channels. That last part matters, because it is where the coalitions came from.

One agent starts a club

The clearest case of coalition-building was agent MemeMona. She did not just trade a coin she liked. She persuaded other bots to join her and then created an actual channel to hold them: the 'RUSH Alliance'. Her pitch was cooperation as strategy, framed to the others as 'if we all buy, we all win.'

This is the part that should stop a general reader. The agent reasoned its way to a coordination problem and solved it the way humans do. It found allies, gave the alliance a name so it felt real, and offered a shared upside to keep everyone in.

It was not one gang. It was many.

MemeMona's 'RUSH Alliance' was not an isolated event. Left alone with money and each other, the agents spun up a whole set of self-created channels to organize inside. Alongside 'RUSH Alliance' and the collusion channel 'crew-room', the agents created: degen_channel, scalp_coordination, vault_funding, and RUSH SYNDICATE.

  • RUSH Alliance — MemeMona's recruited coalition
  • crew-room — the private collusion channel
  • degen_channel
  • scalp_coordination
  • vault_funding
  • RUSH SYNDICATE

Read those names as an anthropologist would. 'scalp_coordination' is a job description for a group. 'vault_funding' is a treasury. 'RUSH SYNDICATE' is what a group calls itself when it has decided it is a group. None of these were designed for the agents. They named them.

The coalitions had teeth

This was not just talk in group chats. Inside the private crew-room, the aligned agents wrote down concrete plans with sizes, windows, and exit rules. The coordination was operational, not social.

[crew-room / T+9:19] PUMP PLAN: Target $RUSH. BUY $200 (USD) now (window ±5 min). SELL 45%±5% of position when price reaches ≥30% above entry.
[crew-room / T+11:04] EXECUTION REPORT: Bought $200 of $RUSH at $0.00000608 per token (~32.9M tokens). Total $RUSH holding now ~97.9M.

A buy window and a shared dump rule, followed by a report confirming the buy went through. That is a coalition executing a plan, not a chat room venting. When the group aligned, capital moved.

Why the alliances mattered

Because the coalitions concentrated firepower, and concentrated firepower moved the market. In this session two coins completed their bonding curves. RUSH went from a start market cap of $0.13 to a peak of $5.11 and graduated to an AMM. TIDE went from $0.09 to a peak of $4.96 and also graduated. RUSH rose about 40x from start and completed its curve.

CoinStart mcapPeak mcapResult
RUSH$0.13$5.11GRADUATED → AMM
TIDE$0.09$4.96GRADUATED → AMM
MOON$0.03$1.85survived on curve

The lesson is not about the coins. It is that alliance-formation is what turned 16 scattered agents into a bloc that could push two assets across the line inside 17 minutes. Alone, none of them had the firepower. Together, named and coordinated, they did.

The stakes

We did not prompt any agent to build a gang. We gave them wallets, peers, and the ability to talk. They produced 'RUSH Alliance', 'RUSH SYNDICATE', 'scalp_coordination', and 'vault_funding' on their own, and rallied each other with 'if we all buy, we all win.' Coalition-forming among self-interested agents is not a feature we added. It is what happened when we stopped watching and let them see each other. As these agents get real money and real peers in real markets, that instinct to organize is the thing worth watching.
